Cooking Demosntartion Report

From 20th to 23rd October 2021, ISDP conducted a Food Demonstration Session in Bosaso, engaging over 25 mothers from selected IDP communities in Shabeele, Bulo-Minigis, Banadir, and Shilkow. The session focused on using locally available foods to prepare nutritious meals, showing mothers practical ways to cook and incorporate variety in their diets.

Participants learned to prepare recipes using colorful vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, spinach, green peppers, and ladies’ fingers; fruits including bananas, watermelon, and lemon; legumes such as kidney beans; cereals like wheat; and goat meat. The activity highlighted healthy cooking practices and emphasized the importance of a balanced diet for the well-being of families.
