Mass LLINs Distribution Campaign in Bosaso

Between 7 and 23 December 2025, ISDP successfully implemented a Mass Long-Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) Distribution Campaign in Bosaso District, Puntland State of Somalia. The campaign aimed to reduce malaria transmission by increasing household access to treated mosquito nets, with priority given to children under five years of age and pregnant women, particularly within IDP settlements and vulnerable host communities.

A total of 232,336 LLINs were distributed against a planned target of 232,486, achieving an impressive 99.5% coverage rate. Based on the standard allocation ratio of one LLIN for every two persons, the campaign reached an estimated 464,970 beneficiaries, significantly strengthening malaria prevention and protection for families across Bosaso District.

The campaign was implemented by ISDP in collaboration with the Puntland Ministry of Health, with support from UNICEF and the Global Fund, demonstrating a strong commitment to improving community health and reducing malaria risks.
