WASH
Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
ISDP’s WASH Department works to improve access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene practices among vulnerable communities across Somalia. The program focuses on reducing waterborne diseases and improving public health by ensuring that communities have access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities.
ISDP supports communities affected by drought, displacement, and limited infrastructure by implementing sustainable WASH interventions. Through community engagement, infrastructure support, and hygiene promotion activities, the department aims to improve living conditions and promote healthier environments for vulnerable populations.

2. Promote Sanitation and Hygiene Practices
The department promotes improved sanitation facilities and hygiene behaviors through community awareness campaigns, hygiene education, and the distribution of hygiene supplies to reduce the spread of waterborne diseases.
3. Prevent Waterborne Diseases
ISDP integrates WASH interventions with health and community programs to reduce the risk of water-related illnesses and improve overall public health outcomes in vulnerable communities.
